Michigan HS Football Player Blasts His Own Teammate For Fracturing 15-Year-Old Opponent’s Spine With Reckless Belly Flop [VIDEO]
A Michigan high school football player has hit out at his teammate following a decision that left a 15-year-old opponent nursing multiple spinal fractures.
The latter, Colton Mims, is expected to recover from his injuries. Still, he might never be able to play football again, and his life will definitely take on a different trajectory. He sustained the injuries during a JV game last week in which
Doctors later discovered that he had fractured his spine in two places.
The player at fault hasn’t been identified, but his teammate, Rhys Biske, has taken to social media to criticize his actions, acknowledging that there was no ill intent but noting the decision was horrible nonetheless.
“The decision my teammate made and what he did to the Lakeshore player was not alright,” Biske, also 15, said in a TikTok video. “It was an illegal move and had no place. I’m not going to try to defend that. It was a horrible decision.”
@outheretrynasurvive My son, Rhys asked me if he could post a response video to the MANY disturbing chains of events that have happened since Colton was injured by his teammate. (Not to mention ALL the students can see the harmful comments being made on my viral video of Rhys kneeling to pray for Colton). These students are getting unaliving threats & that’s not okay. It’s really horrific. And it is r@cially charged violence when their school is being harrassed with race based slurs. Rhys is 15. Please use discretion when making hateful comments about children/teenagers. I’m proud of my son & I support his message & stand by him. 🫶🏽 #thisisamerica #kalamazoocentral #footballpancake #lakeshorehigh #jvfootball ♬ Mysterious and Sad – Beats by Lucky
He added that his teammate executed the flop as a “celebration and to be funny.”
“After the play, he came to me on the sideline, he said he wanted to apologize, he felt bad for the kid, but the Lakeshore student had already been carted off the field,”

Biske also revealed that coaches and staff at his school, Kalamazoo Central, have been receiving racial threats online and over the phone.
Kalamazoo police are investigating the threats.
Meanwhile, the school has punished the player for his actions, releasing a statement in which they noted having taken “strong and decisive action.”
“Due to student privacy laws, we cannot disclose the specific accountability actions, but they have exceeded what (Michigan High School Athletics Association) regulations would otherwise require in cases of dangerous and unsportsmanlike behavior,”

A statement from the Kalamazoo school district also condemned the player’s behavior, calling it unacceptable and unsportsmanlike.
