NFL Fans Are Officially Done With Troy Aikman
NFL fans are fed up with Troy Aikman after his latest performance on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” program alongside Joe Buck.
Now in his fourth season in the ESPN ‘MNF’ broadcast booth, Troy Aikman remains one of the most polarizing announcers in professional sports. But all that matters is the opinion of ESPN, and they handed him a lucrative multi-year deal worth around a reported $90 million in 2022 for a reason.
After Monday’s Week 2 clash between the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, more and more disgruntled fans are expressing their frustration with the Pro Football Hall of Famer.
“Does Troy Aikman keep calling Rachaad White, Bucky Irving, or am I trippin?” one fan said.
I think Troy Aikman thinks Bucky Irving and Rashaad White are the same person. Not even joking,”
“Can we please move past Troy Aikman on the MNF main broadcast with Buck? I have respect for the dude, but he doesn’t have a very high football IQ,”
“Genuinely cannot fathom the mind of the Troy Aikman enjoyer,” a fan commented.
“Did Troy Aikman just say that baker mayfield is not “overly athletic” cmon bro lol,”
“Did Troy Aikman just suggest Tampa punt down 5 with 1:40 to go?” a user commented.
Andrew Marchand, then of the New York Post, reported in 2022 that Troy Aikman’s ESPN deal was worth $90 million over five years. Aikman joined Fox Sports as a commentator in 2001 before and spent the next two decades there before leaving for the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
Aikman and Buck will be back in the booth next Monday to call the Detroit Lions-Baltimore Ravens game at M&T Bank Stadium.
