Patricia Crowley, the beloved actress best known for her work on the TV series Dynasty and the 1960s sitcom Please Don’t Eat the Daisies, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, just two days before her 92nd birthday. Her death, due to natural causes, was confirmed by her son Jon Hookstratten, executive VP of administration and operations for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Crowley’s prolific career spanned decades, including appearances on shows such as Hawaii Five-0, Columbo, Generations, Port Charles, and The Bold and the Beautiful. She also earned a Golden Globe New Star Award in 1954 for her performances in Forever Female and Money From Home.
Born and raised in New York, Crowley followed her sister, singer Ann Crowley, to the city, landing a role in the chorus of Broadway’s Oklahoma!. She later starred in Southern Exposure while attending the High School of Performing Arts and appeared in a live episode of CBS’ The Ford Theatre Hour alongside Jack Lemmon and Jack Albertson.
Crowley was married twice. She is survived by her husband, Andy Friendly, whom she married in 1986, and her children from her previous marriage to Ed Hookstratten, Jon and Ann Hookstratten Osher. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her final on-screen appearance was in the 2012 film Mont Reve, marking the end of a long and celebrated career. Fans can still enjoy her classic performances, including a memorable appearance with Dean Martin on The Dean Martin Show in 1970, which remains a testament to her charm and talent.
